DESERT BOTANICAL GARDEN HAS A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND MATERIALS FOR TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS

Guided school field trips are currently on hiatus. Self-guided field trips for educational groups are still available on a limited basis. Check the garden website for updates on scheduling.

Research & conservation

The cactus family is the fifth most endangered group of organisms identified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.


Desert Botanical Garden has done extensive work in research and conservation to understand and protect these treasured lifeforms and the other desert plants that make our deserts unique.
